Students, staff, and families across the Diocese celebrated Book Week with vibrant costumes, creative activities, and a shared love of reading. (Week 5)

Across the Diocese, school hallways and classrooms transformed into vibrant storybook scenes last week as students, staff, and families united to celebrate Book Week. While fairytale heroes and magical wizards stole the spotlight, it was the dedication and creativity of our teachers and support staff that truly brought the celebration to life.

Behind every themed classroom and joyful activity, educators carefully planned, decorated, and guided students through a rich exploration of storytelling and imagination. Their tireless efforts turned ordinary school days into extraordinary experiences, reminding us all of the power of books and the joy of learning.

The excitement-filled playgrounds as students arrived dressed as their favourite literary characters, dragons, detectives, witches, bears, and more, sharing stories and laughter. While parents and carers helped craft colourful costumes, it was the teachers and support staff who transformed the day into a meaningful educational journey, weaving reading, creativity, and curiosity into every moment.

Classrooms buzzed with themed activities, author spotlights, and book-inspired artwork. In school libraries, special displays encouraged students to discover new genres and hidden literary gems, with staff always ready to recommend favourites and nurture a lifelong love of reading.

Book Week 2025 was more than a celebration; it was a testament to the incredible role teachers play in shaping students’ academic growth, imaginations, confidence, and sense of wonder.
