The vibrant community spirit of St Brigid’s Primary School, Kyogle, came alive at the annual Flower & Foliage Spectacular, held in partnership with the Kyogle Garden Club. Now in its sixth year, the two-day event was a celebration of nature, creativity, and collaboration, drawing together students, families, and garden enthusiasts for an unforgettable weekend.
Visitors were greeted by the enchanting Woodland Easter exhibit, designed by Year 5 teacher Sally Griffiths. The exhibit transformed the hall into a whimsical forest with floral arrangements, natural textures, and imaginative displays, captivating all who entered.
Throughout the weekend, guests enjoyed stunning floral installations curated by the Kyogle Garden Club, along with expert horticultural talks, plant sales, and bustling market stalls. A standout on Friday’s program was the appearance of ABC Gardening Australia's Phil Dudman, whose energy and insights delighted green thumbs of all ages.
The spirit of community shone brightly as the school’s Community Forum and staff teamed up to run the canteen, serving fresh scones, tea, and homemade treats. Children got crafty at a dedicated nature-art table hosted by parent volunteers, while classrooms contributed stunning student artworks that were displayed throughout the hall and exhibit spaces.
‘The Flower & Foliage was a couple of great family days out in the sun. It was great to see so many varieties of plants and to eat good food! It was great to see all the parents rally together in the canteen to support the school as well!!’ said parent Brooke.
St Brigid’s Flower & Foliage Spectacular was a blooming success, a joyful reminder of the beauty that blossoms when a community grows together.
