Eden Lewis-Bain, a 2022 graduate of St Joseph’s Regional College, Port Macquarie, has successfully launched and grown her mobile coffee business, Coffee Injection, in Lake Cathie. (March 2024)
At just 18 years old, Eden Lewis-Bain from Camden Haven is making waves as a young entrepreneur with her flourishing coffee truck business, Coffee Injection, at Lake Cathie. A 2022 graduate of St Joseph's Regional College, Port Macquarie, Eden is now balancing her entrepreneurial journey with her studies at Charles Sturt University, where she is working towards a Bachelor of Education in PDHPE.
Eden proactively pursued a Certificate II in Kitchen Operations and Cookery as part of her Hospitality subject, which included specialised training in espresso preparation. Her commitment extended to completing 70 hours of work placement, demonstrating a strong aptitude for real-world application. This combination of focused education, facilitated by the college, and her own dedicated attitude equipped her with the necessary expertise to excel in her chosen field.
The idea for Coffee Injection came to Eden shortly after completing her HSC. With the encouragement and support of her family and friends, she launched her business at the Lake Cathie Medical Centre on Ocean Drive. In no time, her mobile coffee van became a local favourite, offering a much-needed pick-me-up for residents and visitors alike.
‘I’m incredibly proud of what I’ve achieved so far,’ said Eden. ‘It’s been a journey—from a high school student with a weekend job to now managing my own business. The best advice I’ve taken to heart is that hard work truly pays off, and every little achievement matters.’
Coffee Injection has experienced remarkable growth, with an upgraded van and an expanded menu featuring cakes, hot food, cold drinks, and, of course, the much-loved Holy Goat coffee. Eden credits her business's success to her dedicated team, who serve customers with passion and enthusiasm every day of the week.
‘The key to our success is the love and passion of our team. We take great pride in crafting every cup of coffee with care to ensure that each customer’s day starts with a smile and a perfect brew,’ Eden said. ‘I’m also proud to support other local businesses by sourcing quality ingredients, like our Holy Goat coffee beans, which never disappoint.’
With a keen focus on customer satisfaction and plans for continued growth, Eden is excited about the future and deeply grateful for the supportive community that has been with her every step of the way.
