Embracing the Lenten Spirit From Pancakes to Prayer

Students and Staff from across the Diocese celebrated Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday, signifying the commencement of the sacred season of Lent. (13 - 14 February 2024)

On 13 February, a spirit of anticipation swept through the Diocese as staff and students joined together to celebrate Shrove Tuesday. The delightful aroma of pancakes filled the air, creating an atmosphere of joy marked by smiling faces and laughter. It was a moment of shared indulgence, bringing the community closer.

The momentum continued the following day, 14 February, as Ash Wednesday ushered in the beginning of Lent. In a display of unity, students, families, and staff gathered not only to receive ashes but also to embrace the essence of the Lenten season— a commitment to prayer, fasting, and acts of generosity.
