The NSW Curriculum Reform has been a time of reflection, consultation and change. This reform aims to ensure our young people are well-prepared to make a contribution to our society and the world. The reformed NSW syllabuses are the roadmap to this future. Now is the time to seize this once in a generation opportunity to optimise learning and engagement, enhancing our practice across the secondary curriculum.

Preliminary Conference Details 

When: Thursday, 24 and Friday, 25 August 2023 

Where: Sydney CBD

  • Andreas Schleicher – Director for the Directorate of Education and Skills. OECD 
  • Simon Breakspear – Education Leader, researcher and speaker  
  • Representatives from The Professional Teachers’ Council NSW.

The conference will consider the opportunity for curriculum reform through the lenses of: 

  1. the syllabuses  
  2. the cross-syllabus drive to improve reading, writing and communication 
  3. assessment & data  
  4. ensuring we meet the learning needs of the most disadvantaged  
  5. leadership and change management.
