THE WAY (Term 1 Week 9 - 25 March 2024)
On Friday, 15 March, the Catholic community of Casino gathered to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Fr Peter Slack's appointment as the Parish Priest of the St Mary's Catholic community. (15 March 2024)
An extraordinary community celebration unfolded simultaneously at St Mary’s Catholic College, Casino, and St Mary’s Primary School, Casino, marking Fr Peter’s remarkable 20 years of dedicated service as the Parish Priest of the Casino Catholic Parish.
The event commenced with a vibrant liturgy of celebration on the St Mary’s Catholic College oval, presided over by the Most Reverend Gregory Homeming OCD, Bishop of Lismore. It was a momentous occasion where students, staff, and parishioners gathered in heartfelt appreciation for Fr Peter’s unwavering commitment and leadership to the parish and schools.
Throughout the day, joyous echoes filled the air as laughter and excitement reverberated across the school grounds at St Mary’s Primary School. Students immersed themselves in an array of exhilarating activities, ranging from interacting with adorable animals at the farm to delighting in the thrills of inflatable slides. Meanwhile, St Mary’s Primary School's newly inaugurated playground, featuring a cattle truck-themed outdoor playset, provided endless amusement for all.
This outstanding event encapsulated the community's spirit of unity and gratitude, highlighting Fr Slack’s profound impact and fostering bonds that will continue to flourish for years to come.
