Across the Diocese, our primary schools extended a warm and heartfelt welcome to the Kindergarten students and their families as they embark on a wonderful and exciting thirteen-year journey of learning, faith and friendship.
Our secondary colleges welcomed their new cohort of Year 7 students as they embark on their transition to secondary school. With a sense of excitement and anticipation, these students are ready to embrace new experiences, opportunities and friendships.
We wish our Kindergarten students, Year 7 students and students new to the Diocese all the best as they step into a new world of learning, adventure and endless possibilities.
Below are images from across the Diocese.
A reminder that staff need to renew their Working with Children Checks (WWCC) with the Office of the Children’s Guardian prior to the expiry date. All staff receive reminder emails three months and two months prior to this date. The earlier you start the process, the better.
Rules regarding identification at Service NSW are strict, so please have your correct documentation ready when you visit Service NSW to pay for the renewal to avoid any hold-up in the process.
Staff must update this information via userportal.lism.catholic.edu.au once they receive notification from the Office of the Children’s Guardian confirming their new expiry date. This will enable the DLCSL to update our records accordingly.
The Be That Teacher campaign is one of the actions in the National Teacher Workforce Action Plan agreed upon by all Education Ministers in December 2022 to attract more people to teaching and to keep the teachers we have.
In November 2023, the Australian Government and state and territory governments launched the Be That Teacher campaign – a joint initiative to promote teaching as a valued and rewarding profession and to celebrate the teachers across Australia who inspire their students every single day.
Please see the attached detailed information and the ‘Be That Teacher’ Resource Toolkit.
If you have questions or feedback, please contact bethatteacher@education.gov.au.
Please refer to the Information Sheet attached for full details on this Arts Opportunity presented by NORPA - 'Laboratory of Light.'
We received the sad news that John Forwell, father of Anne Forwell (Assistant Principal at St Joseph’s Primary School, Grafton South), passed away on Friday, 2 February, after a long illness.
John was farewelled in a private ceremony held by his family last week.
Our deepest sympathy and prayers are extended to Anne, Anne’s mother, Janet and brother Patrick during this difficult time.
Rest in God's love and peace always.
