Dear Staff,
As you are aware, some recent COVID-19 case locations within the Diocese of Lismore were identified earlier this week (Coffs Harbour and Chinderah). I know that many of you are concerned how this may impact your school or Catholic Schools Office/Annexe. I wish to assure you that the safety and wellbeing of students and staff is of paramount importance. As such, the Catholic Schools Office is working closely with NSW Health and Catholic Schools NSW to ensure that planning and preparations for all scenarios are in place and ready to be activated if required.
Our focus remains on keeping students, staff and community safe and ensuring we are working within the required restrictions.
I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that we are required to act only on direction and advice from NSW Health and Catholic Schools NSW. These organisations are our sources of truth. We will not respond to information disseminated in the media or on social media. Should there be any COVID-19 related impact on schools, we will communicate with you using the normal communication methods.
I thank you again for your continued support and dedication to students and schools as we navigate this evolving situation together.
Director of Catholic Schools
In recognising the need to support the ongoing growth and development of aspiring leaders, The Diocese of Lismore has commenced with the first intake into the Pathways to School Leadership: Leading with Impact Program.
Day 1 and 2 were recently held at Invercauld House with 25 leaders from across the system. This exciting program is facilitated by Dr Stephen Brown (Director of The Brown Collective).
The Pathways Program involves five distinct but inter-related phases. These include: self-reflection, peer collaboration, coaching examination of a leadership challenge, action research, coaching/mentoring/accessing expert knowledge.
Following last week's notice in The Way directing schools to the website for this event, the organisers have advised that the date of this year’s event has changed to Friday, 27 August 2021.
Attention: Secondary Principals
Please see the attached information sheet regarding Minimising COVID-19 Impacts to HSC Students - NESA HSC Communication 22-7-2021.
