This week we reflect on how living out our vocation as educators is an offering of love for our students.
The documents teach us about the fundamental characteristics required of Catholic schools if they are to be effective in the Church and broader society. One of these fundamental characteristics is that we should see the "mission of education as a work of love" (The Catholic School on the Threshold of the Third Millennium).
An authentic Catholic school sees education as an act of love offered to each young person in their care. To love is to will the good of the other. We do this as educators by working for the good of each of our students; to seek for them the 'fullness of life'.
