Planning and development for the next Strategic Directions 2021 - 2023 continues. It is important for the direction of Catholic education in the Diocese that a broad consultation process be undertaken to ensure that all stakeholders across the system are given an opportunity to have input into this process.
School staff are invited to complete a short survey here. The survey will take no more than FIVE minutes. Your participation is greatly appreciated.

School Appointment
Sharon de Dassel has been appointed to the position of Assistant Principal - Learning and Teaching at St Francis Xavier Primary School, Woolgoolga. Sharon is currently an Education Officer, Primary with the Catholic Schools Office.
CSO Appointments
John McKay has been appointed to the position of Innovation and Learning Consultant K-12. John is currently Deputy Principal Learning and Teaching at Penola Catholic College, Melbourne Victoria.
Leisa Fisher has been appointed to the position of Teacher Accreditation and Learning Consultant. Leisa is currently Additional Needs Coordinator and Teacher at MacKillop College, Port Macquarie and previously held the position of Assistant Principal - Learning and Teaching at St Joseph’s Primary School, Port Macquarie.

Applications for 2021 are now open!
The Marist Fathers Indigenous Education Grant 2021 is now open. The Marist Fathers are mindful of the important role of education in furthering the prospects and opportunities of Indigenous youth. This fund aims to assist Indigenous students who are in need in areas not normally covered by other available sources of funding.
A grant will be made available for assistance in any of the following areas:
- School uniform and school footwear expenses
- Text book and stationery expenses
- Special subject levies and equipment
- VET course fees
- School retreats
- School camps
- Distance learning in junior high school
- Necessary documentation must be provided to claim reimbursement
The Intranet has been updated to include information about next year’s Kindergarten Best Start Assessments. If you are teaching Kindergarten next year, please ensure that you familiarise yourself with the updated information.
If you require any further information, please contact the Education Officer in each cluster.
Teachers can book one-on-one sessions or small groups with other staff members if you have the same question or topic that you would like to discuss or work through. At the end of Term 4, we will randomly select one person who booked a session with a Digital Learning Mentor to win an Astrobot, kindly donated by Lumination.

This will be potentially useful for Principals and Assistant Principals who wish to recommend staff to register for particular courses.

CoSpaces for Science, Maths and TAS Secondary teachers 20CSO-CATCS2
CoSpaces affords students the ability to demonstrate their knowledge in new ways by building simple or complex virtual interactive worlds. The platform has great potential to further integrate digital technology with links to TAS, Maths and Science.
The Catholic Schools Office is funding a Science, Maths and TAS teacher from all secondary schools to attend this Professional Learning opportunity via Zoom. Each of the 3 teachers at each school, are required to register in My Learning for this online course. For more information, contact JJ Purton Jones.
Primary Sports Council Meeting Term 4, 2020 20CSO-PSCMT4
Please note this Zoom meeting is by invitation only. These meetings are held each term with two representatives from each sporting zone, the Diocesan Principal representative and the Diocesan Sports Officer.
