THE WAY (Term 3 Week 3 - 3 August 2020)
Principal Appointment
Guy Campbell has been appointed to the position of Principal at St Joseph’s Primary School, Kempsey commencing Term 1, 2021.
Guy has nearly 20 years’ leadership experience in Coordinator roles and 7 years as Assistant Principal at St Paul’s College, Kempsey.

The Australian Government Department of Education and Training Student Attendance (STATS) Data Collection process will proceed this year as in previous years, however, it has momentarily been delayed. Further advice will be provided when it becomes available, and a timeline established.
Please continue to use the normal marking codes for Attendance this term (as used at the end of last term). Students who are required to quarantine due to recent visits to Victoria need to be marked with the F Code – Flexible Timetable Off Site Learning Program. The F Code is also to be used for students who are absent due to being tested for COVID-19, or awaiting the results of the test.
Students require a Doctor’s certificate if they are advised to stay at home for compromised health conditions for themselves or a member of their household. If students provide a Doctor’s certificate the Code is F, if they do not provide a Doctor’s certificate they should be considered Absent Explained Unjustified.

The 2018 System Communication Review identified that the current intranet did not effectively support staff to locate vital information and content to support their roles. After much consultation, a new Catholic Schools Office intranet has been designed and built to rectify this.
Content from the current intranet has been audited, updated and migrated to the new platform and new content has also been developed. This new intranet will be launched to all staff on Monday 17 August (Week 5). The primary features of the new platform are:
- easy to use search functionality
- ability to assign your favourite pages
- a clean and simple navigational path to get to the content you need quickly
- easy access to your email and linked dashboards (MyLearning, MySafety etc)
Over the coming weeks we'll include information in The Way on the different features and functions of the new intranet for you.
