Principal Appointment
On behalf on Father Joseph Holloway and the Diocese of Lismore Catholic Schools Limited, I wish to make the following announcement:
Lee Denton has been appointed to the position of Principal at St Joseph’s Primary School, South Grafton commencing Term 1, 2021.
Since the beginning of the 2020 school year, Lee has been in the role of Acting Principal at St Joseph’s Primary and will continue in this capacity until her appointment officially starts. Lee is an experienced educational leader with over 30 years in various senior leadership roles.
FOR STAFF WHO HOLD A POSITION OF ADDED RESPONSIBILITY NEW TO THEIR SCHOOL AND/OR NEW TO THEIR ROLE
Category C applies to staff either new to their school, or to their position of added responsibility and includes AP Mission, Leaders of Catechesis, Leaders of School Evangelisation, Leaders of Curriculum; Leaders of Pedagogy; Leaders of Learning; Consultants from non-school backgrounds; Catholic Schools Office (CSO) Education Officers and CSO Teacher Educators. Each new appointee is required to participate in an initial 24 hour Catholic Leadership Formation program, offered in two 12 hour programs over two consecutive years.
Category C Leadership Formation programs are scheduled for:
- 20-21 October & 22-23 October 2020 at Bonny Hills or;
- 27-28 October & 29-30 October 2020 at Invercauld House.

The NSW Government requires all staff in the role of a Student Support Worker (National Chaplaincy Program) to complete a mandatory cyberbullying training. The three-hour online training, delivered through the Office of the eSafety Commissioner, has no cost. The course is not NESA registered.

Complete the training by the end of Term 3. On completion of the course email your certificate of completion to Karen Evans. Ensure that you register and complete the training specifically for this role. Any Student Support Workers who completed the training during 2019 are not required to repeat the training.

Winning students will now have the opportunity to become a top three finalist and compete at the NSW State Training Awards later in the year.

The Federal Government is providing support for people to retrain or upskill during COVID-19. Western Sydney University will be offering short courses online at a reduced rate, allowing domestic students to gain practical skills and knowledge in areas of national priority.
They are offering courses in Science, Mathematics, and STEM education. Applications are now open.

Candidates in the Graduate Formation Program were emailed a link to online professional learning at the end of last term, this is to be completed by 9 August.
Day 4 of the Program will be held during Week 3 and 4. My Learning has now opened for candidates and mentors to register.
All Mentors of Graduate Teachers are expected to attend with mentees. The exception will be mentors of Graduates in the second year of the program (Group B) who have obtained proficiency. NB: If a mentor has both a second and first-year candidate in the Graduate Formation program they will need to ONLY attend with the second year candidate.
- Group A (first years in the program) will be held on Monday 10 August @ Invercauld House, Goonellabah (North) and Monday 17 August @ Opal Cove, Coffs Harbour (South).
- Group B (second years in the program) will be held on Tuesday 11 August @ Invercauld House, Goonellabah (North) and Friday 14 August @ Opal Cove, Coffs Harbour (South).
Principals can use the Graduate Formation Funding (code C8HA) to support the attendance of Graduates and Mentors for Day 4.
On 22 June the NSW Education Minister announced additional support for HSC students through a new ‘HSC Hub’ housing high-quality, on-demand resources that students and teachers can use to help prepare for the HSC exams.
