THE WAY (Term 2 Week 9 - 22 June 2020)
Last week in The Soul we explored praying with music and art. Contributing to the Proclaim Lismore Wildfire lyric video is a great way for both staff and students to get creative and share their gifts.
This video outlines how simple and reflective getting creative can be.
Artwork can be submitted here up until Wednesday, 24 June.
The theme for NAIDOC Week 2020 is Always Was, Always Will Be.
NAIDOC Week celebrates that the very first footprints on this continent were those belonging to First Nations peoples. First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years and continue to be Spiritually and Culturally connected to this country.
NAIDOC 2020 invites all Australians to embrace the true history of this country – a history which dates back thousands of generations.
Due to COVID-19, the Community NAIDOC celebrations have been postponed, however Lismore Diocesan Catholic Schools are encouraged to acknowledge NAIDOC week on the dates originally planned in their 2020 school calendars (Term 2, Week 10 OR Term 3, Week 1). The Catholic Schools Office will begin the celebrations on Monday 29 June, Week 10, with a Liturgy.
Schools would have by now received their NAIDOC week grant. Please be mindful this grant is to be used to celebrate the THEME: Always Was, Always Will Be. Acquittals must be completed and emailed to Claire Lane and Doreen Flanders by Term 4, Week 6 2020.
The ABC Education website is hosting an Indigenous Language Art Competition, calling for students to create an artwork featuring the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander language of your local area.
