To mark the 10th anniversary of the canonisation of Australia’s first Saint, Mary of the Cross MacKillop, Aid to the Church in Need Australia is offering commemorative Rosary Beads for sale.

The four cluster workshops for Hastings, Nambucca, Clarence and Richmond that were cancelled in 2019 due to the bush fires and again in Term 2, 2020 due to COVID-19, will be offered as an online course in Term 3. This will allow flexibility (within a time period) for Stage 1 teams to access this learning when it suits your school context. Registration will be through My Learning in the coming weeks.
As Stage 3 and 4 Mathematics Workshops require teachers to engage in session tasks between Day 1 and Day 2, and for teachers trialling the learning sequences (or part thereof) to be able to give feedback to the group on Day 2, Stage 3 and 4 Mathematics Workshops have been postponed until Term 4 Week 4.
Over the coming weeks, a number of changes will be made to ACER’s Online Assessment and Reporting System (OARS) that will affect how account administrators add and manage staff logins.
These changes are being made to improve the security of staff members’ login details.
- Staff passwords will no longer be editable by account administrators;
- The length and complexity requirements of staff passwords will become more stringent; and
- Staff members will be prompted to change their passwords at set intervals during the year.
From Friday 22 May, ACER added a process to allow administrators to add new staff members to their OARS accounts by using the new Bulk Staff Invite page, available by clicking Staff > Bulk invite.
By uploading an Excel file with staff members’ email addresses, roles, year levels and tags, administrators will be able to automatically send email invitations to their colleagues. These invitations will prompt the staff members to set up their own usernames and passwords and to log into OARS.
Subsequent changes will include the removal of the existing staff creation process, which currently requires administrators to specify staff passwords and usernames, and the update of the password complexity requirements.
Schools can continue to teach and assess subjects with practical and fieldwork components by following Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) advice.
NESA has provided flexibility in K–10 curriculum requirements and HSC School-based assessment to support this.
The examples provided below support assessment and learning in the context of AHPPC advice.
The 2020 WriteOn competition is now open.
Using a common stimulus, students in Years 1 to 6 are invited to write a short imaginative text of up to 500 words.
Entries close Friday 3 July 2020.

Phase 4.3 PDHPE inquiry unit will be uploaded to the Learning from Home site on Friday 29 May.
The learning plan covers the PDHPE content strands of Health, Wellbeing and Relationships. The recommended duration of this unit is 2-4 weeks, depending on the depth and breadth of implementation.
This unit is designed to lead students through a process to express their experience and reconnect with community. In particular, as students transition back to school after their time at home during the COVID-19, it is important that they reflect on their community and be given the opportunity to reconnect with others.
The learning plans include:

- Program
- Supporting resources - linked through the program
Phase 4.3 Learning Plans do not include English, Mathematics and Religious Education now that we are back to face-to-face teaching and learning.

The STEM Challenge involves students choosing their own project based upon real world experiences and/or real world problems. The challenge involves students choosing, in their context, a "real world problem" and then using a design process to come up with a solution for that problem.
If primary schools are interested they can refer to the Phase 4.2 Learning Plans on the Learning from Home site which are based on the Lism STEM Challenge concept. Perhaps your class or school could then present a STEM showcase to the parent community (face-to-face or on-line).
