Support for Online Safety Education

FRAMEWORK - learning_teachingTo help teachers navigate online safety education, a new section on the Learning at Home site has been developed.

On this page you will find links to download eBooks (published by Catholic Schools Office) on what online safety education should look like, and short video clips for teachers to share (either via a Zoom, Google classroom, or face to face etc) with students.

There are also downloadable posters for use as required.  Access the new Online Safety content using the link below.

Changes to NESA Requirements for English Extension 2

FRAMEWORK - learning_teaching

NESA has altered the requirements for the Major Work Multimedia – Short Film.

The film will not be examined.

Instead, students will submit their rationale and any supporting documentation that elaborates on their directorial vision, production and post-production decisions or intentions for external marking.

This can include:

  • shot list.
  • storyboards.
  • script.
  • photos of location(s) and other visual elements (including up to 3 minutes of previously shot and edited footage).
  • edited soundtrack.
  • marking guidelines will be adjusted to accommodate this change.

Students who have chosen Multimedia-short film can change to an option that is not affected by these changes. The change must be made in consultation with the teacher by 5 June 2020.

The requirements for all other Major Work forms remain unchanged.

Leaders of Curriculum and Collaborative Network Leader for English have been notified of this amendment.
